Showering has become a somewhat low priority for me. Eeew, gross. I don't go past three days, but I've definitely been hitting the three-day mark lately. Eeew, double gross. My blogging frequency isn't so high that I should be giving this hygenic necessity up altogether, but I'd like to blame it on it anyway. I like to be at my computer first thing in the morning. And sometimes, I'm too tired to shower at night. Besides the fact that I've started blogging late at night. So - it slips. And slips. And then I think about cleaning myself, and then I don't. And then eventually when I'm tired of wearing a head band, I get around to actually turning on the water.
It's a phase. I'm sure of it. Lets blame it on another cycle of grief. One day I cried in the shower, so maybe subliminally I don't want to go in there - or go there. Who knows, next subject.
CURRENT: I'm in San Diego. John's in Vegas.
NEXT: Both of us in Los Angeles.

The shower is where I tend to have my good cries. Depending on the reason, it may be a pity party, although of late, we both have reason to let it flow.By doing it in the shower, where we are solitary and the mind wanders, we protect ourselves from others' worrying about us. We can cry and no one hears over the rushing water. We can wash our face when we are done, and no one is the wiser. But it can be cathartic and provide at least momentary relief. So no worries about a good cry, and no worries about the showers, unless I'm in town. (just kidding)

Thanks Susan. I've actually been crying everywhere - even at the foot massage place which we should definitely go to while you're here. $40 for 45 min foot massage. They're open 24 hours and as far as I can tell it's ONLY for foot massages. I loved it!
Re other places for crying, it mostly happens in the car whether I'm by myself or with John. Now that I'm in San Diego going through the house - it's everywhere.

I'm an every-other-day showerer, except for the weekend when, most times, I'll stretch it to three.
The shower is a good place for a good cry. I was where you are now about a year ago, and there are still unexplained, spontaneous bursts of tearful bouts. I let 'em happen and don't try to explain 'em.
Sending you a big virtual hug...

Foot massage - oh yeah. After brunch on Sat? I'm always amazed how much foot massages are here. Hard to find, unlike Asia. They are everywhere in Thailand, and popular in Taiwan. Glad you found a good one. Happy to have a go.

Thanks Maudie. I'm sorry you're having to go through it too. I suppose we all do at some point or another.
See you this summer to return the hug!

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who is shower deficient these days. I was getting worried there:-)
I cry in the car, with sunglasses on. I perfected this technique in the hellishness of 2005 (do you remember that? It's practically funny now).
