Please read Amy Calistri's article "Online Gambling Bill Co-sponsors Are Vulnerable for Re-election" which ran on PokerNews yesterday. It explains a bit about the two bills that are hurting online poker and tells us which states have neck and neck races with sponsors of the latest bill, HR 4777: To amend title 18, United States Code, to expand and modernize the
prohibition against interstate gambling, and for other purposes. Amy mentions races in New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Iowa, and Arizona just to name a few.
If you are living in California and want to protect online poker, here is the list of representatives that are co-sponsoring the bill against it. So, if you're voting, and love the poker, you would NOT want to vote for these candidates.
Rep Cardoza, Dennis A. [CA-18]
Rep Gallegly, Elton [CA-24]
Rep Herger, Wally [CA-2]
Rep Hunter, Duncan [CA-52]
Rep Lewis, Jerry [CA-41]
Rep Lungren, Daniel E. [CA-3]
Rep McKeon, Howard P. (Buck) [CA-25]
Rep Thomas, William M. [CA-22]
As you can see I only grabbed the ones I saw for CA. There were 146 co-sponsors of the bill. Please check the full list, and also the list of 35 sponsors that supported the preceding bill HR 4411: To prevent the use of certain payment instruments, credit cards, and fund transfers for unlawful Internet gambling, and for other purposes.

I fully support the PPA as every poker play should. We need to stand up for ourselves and tell the government that we want licensed and regulated online poker.
